4 arrested in 9 crore fraud case, fraud committed two years ago

Lucknow: Lucknow Police has got a big success in the 9 crore fraud case in 2018. The police have arrested four named accused, including mastermind Ashish Rai, who cheated Indore businessman Manjeet Singh in the name of awarding a contract in the livestock department. The victim Manjit Singh Bhatia alias Mintu is a resident of Purnia Colony in Indore, who had filed an FIR against a total of 11 people.

The FIR states that Dheeraj Kumar, personal secretary to the livestock minister, Umesh Mishra posted at the livestock office, alleged journalists Santosh Mishra, AK Rajiv, Anil Rai, Amit Mishra from Amethi, Umashankar Tiwari from Kanpur, Rajneesh from Lucknow, DB Singh and Mumbai-based Arun Rai have cheated him.

After 2 years on the complaint of the victim, FIR was registered against 11 people in this case at Hazratganj Kotwali. Among the arrested accused are Ashish Rai, Rajneesh Dixit, AK Rajiv and Dheeraj. The fraudster Ashish Rai has been accused of implicating the businessman by calling himself a director of the department. At present, the police has stepped up the search for the other absconding accused.
