Lucknow: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at a closed madrasa in a village under the Sonauli Kotwali area of the Maharajganj district, police said on Sunday. After raping the girl, the accused fled from the spot after seeing the girl lying in a pool of blood. The police have arrested the accused, who is hiding in the Parsamalik area. A case has been registered under the Rape and Pocso Act.
It is being told that on Monday morning, the girl was going from home to the grocery store to buy some items. Meanwhile, 55-year-old Shamsul Haque was found on the way. He lured the innocent girl to a closed madrasa next door. There he raped her and fled. After this, the blood-soaked girl reached home crying, seeing her condition, the ground slipped under the feet of the family. The family informed Sonauli Kotwali station house officer Mahendra Yadav about the incident. CO Nautanwa Anuj Kumar Singh and Sonauli SHO reached the spot.
After the spot inspection, the police started searching for the accused. Under the leadership of CO, SHO Sonauli Mahendra Yadav and Parsamalik Sho Gorakhnath Saroj arrested the accused in the afternoon. He was hiding in the Parsamalik region. The SHO said that a case of rape and POSCO act has been registered against the accused and he has been arrested and further action is being taken.
