Lucknow: The police have recovered a Hindu girl who was kidnapped from Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. The victim has said that she was taken to a mosque in Delhi and converted into a Muslim. She was held hostage in several cities and raped. The girl was kidnapped on June 21, 2022, and was recovered on July 9, 2022 (Saturday). In this case, the police have arrested Shoaib. Another accused, Kaleem, is said to be absconding. The police are also looking for the cleric of a mosque in Delhi. He is accused of forcibly marrying and converting the victim.
According to media reports, on June 22, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Khakhareru in Fatehpur district about the girl being kidnapped. The victim's family had accused two youths of abducting her. The complainant's father had accused Shoaib Mansuri of harassing his daughter for quite some time. The father had told the police that Shoaib and Kaleem had taken his daughter's obscene videos with them, threatening to make them viral. According to the report, on July 9, the police recovered the victim and arrested Shoaib from the Vijaypur crossroads in Fatehpur.
During interrogation, the victim said, "First of all, Shoaib and Kaleem took me to Rae Bareli. There I was locked in a room and raped. The next day Shoaib took me to a relative's house in Delhi and took me hostage and raped me for several days. On July 5, Shoaib took me to a mosque. I was forcibly converted to Islam by the maulvi and got married and I got two people to testify. After getting me converted, Shoaib brought me back to Lucknow to a relative's place and raped me several times here. He used to introduce people to call me his wife and ask me to live by Muslim Islamic customs. On July 9, while bringing me back to Fatehpur, the police arrested him. The police have also added the Anti-Rape and Conversion Act to the FIR based on the victim's statement along with sections on kidnapping.''
