Lucknow: A Hindu woman was allegedly abducted and forcibly converted to Islam in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district, police said on Sunday. According to the report, the victim was being forcibly married, but the police reached the spot in time. An FIR has been registered against 10 accused. The cleric and the main accused Ahmed Ansari have been arrested. The incident took place on Thursday (December 8).
According to reports, the incident took place in the Asothar police station area. According to the information, some time ago, a 21-year-old girl's family had lodged a missing report in the City Kotwali police station area. The police were trying to find the victim. During this time, the victim's mother came to know that her daughter was married to a young man named Ahmed Ansari, a resident of village Satonpati. The girl's mother rushed to the spot. The girl's mother also saw the cleric there, who was leading her nikah.
It is being told that the victim's mother pleaded with the Ansari family to stop the marriage. At this, the Ansari family beat up the girl's mother badly. As soon as the police got the news, they immediately reached the spot. The girl's mother told the police that her daughter was being forcibly married. A written complaint was lodged against the main accused Ahmed Ansari, his mother Sahroon Nisha, brothers Naushad and Dilshad Ali, sisters Soni Bano and Yasmin, and Tahkhan Nisha along with other associates Bhola Masood and Maulvi Lallu.
The police have registered a case of kidnapping, molestation, conversion, assault, verbal abuse, and threats as well as creating a ruckus against all the accused. Maulvi Lallu and the main accused Ahmed Ansari were arrested on the spot. According to Dinesh Chandra Mishra, Circle Officer of Fatehpur Police Tharianv area, two accused have been arrested and the matter is being investigated.
