Lucknow: A mother of four children was thrown out of her house by her husband in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district by giving her triple talaq. The victim says that when she approached the police with a complaint about the matter, she was also halted from there by assuring her of action. Even after making rounds of the police station for 10 days, her complaint was not registered. After this, she had to go to the Superintendent of Police (SP) with her pain. The victim told the SP that some time ago her husband had forcibly locked her in a room with a youth living in the neighbourhood to defame her. He then took Rs 2 lakh from the youth by threatening to implicate him in a fake case of molestation.
The victim has told the SP in her complaint that when she told about this matter to her brother and mother, they all reached home to convince her husband, but the husband did not listen to anyone and on the contrary, her mother was kicked and punched in front of everyone. In which she was badly injured. After this, the husband gave her Triple Talaq and threw her out of the house. Taking the whole matter seriously, the SP instructed the police station in-charge to register a case. After this, the police registered a case under the relevant sections and started an investigation.
The woman, a resident of the Ghazipur police station area, was married to Afzal of the Hathgam police station area in 2010. The victim gave a complaint letter to the Superintendent of Police stating that she has four children and since the marriage, her husband has been beating her for something or the other. Police have registered a case under IPC 498 (A), 323, Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) 3 Act 2019, Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) 4 Act 2019 and started an investigation.
