Lucknow: A case of poisoning and throwing her into a forest after raping a Dalit minor in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur has come to light. The minor later succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. The accused Sahil has been arrested. Before she died, the victim told about the entire incident. The video recording has been given to the police. The minor deceased and the accused are said to be residents of the same village. Some reports also said that on resisting the rape, the accused poisoned the minor and threw her in the forest. Police say the entire picture will be clear only after the medical report comes.
According to reports, the case is of the Dehat Kotwali area. The deceased was a resident of village Topri on Behat Road. She was studying in the ninth grade. On Thursday (March 3, 2022) morning, she left home to take the exam. The accused, a resident of the village, lured her away during this time and took her with him. He took her to a hotel and raped her, then fed her a poisonous substance and threw her in the forest. Reports have quoted the family members of the deceased as saying that the teachers called and told about the student not reaching for the exam. After that, the family members went in search of her. On learning about Sahil from a friend of the deceased, the family called him up. Allegedly hurling abuses, Sahil said, "Your sister is lying in the forest of Bijopuri, go and get her." After this, when the family members reached the forest looking for the minor student, she was found in agony and froth was coming out of her mouth. She was taken to the hospital, but the victim could not be saved.
According to the report, after the incident was reported, a large number of villagers reached the district hospital and protested against the arrest of the accused. The villagers were not even allowing the body of the victim to be taken for postmortem. Later, the police explained to them and took the body for postmortem. Bajrang Dal activists allege that the matter is related to love jihad. They have sought a hearing in the Fastrack court of the case. According to the police, Sahil has been arrested on charges of attempted rape. Further action will be taken after the medical report is received.
