LUCKNOW:  In the India Innovation Index 2021, a comprehensive tool for assessing and developing the nation's innovation ecosystem, Uttar Pradesh received the highest score in the business environment, which is 40.80, and has improved its performance by two places.

The State is currently placed "seventh" among the major states, down from ninth place in 2020. NITI Ayog published the India Innovation Index 2021 study.

This is because the general business environment has improved, there are many strong clusters, and the manufacturing and service sectors account for a sizable portion of the GSDP.

Uttar Pradesh has risen to the top five states under the pillar of knowledge output, said the official spokesman. This high rating is due to an increase in new firms and start-ups.

"Innovation-led entrepreneurship is vital to 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' programmes," said Abhishek Prakash, chief executive officer of Invest UP. "We are dedicated to building an innovation-friendly environment to offer start-ups, manufacturing, and services more push." Due to a high proportion of ICT exports, high-tech exports, and citations, Uttar Pradesh outperformed the rest of the country with a score of 6.18 in the Knowledge Diffusion category.
