Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, achieved a remarkable milestone by issuing 6.63 lakh new Ayushman cards in a single day, surpassing its previous record of 6.42 lakh cards set on October 1st.

State Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak commended this achievement and emphasized the importance of maintaining this pace. He praised the efforts of health workers involved in the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, stating, "Uttar Pradesh broke its old record by issuing 6.63 lakh Ayushman cards in a single day, the highest number in the entire country. Congratulations and best wishes to all the health workers associated with the scheme."

The Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has been running for the past five years. However, there has been a significant increase in the issuance of new Ayushman cards, with over 65 lakh people applying for them in the last 21 days since September 17th. Of these applicants, more than 54 lakh people have already received their new cards following the verification process. Official figures indicate that there are approximately 7.56 crore beneficiaries under this scheme in the state. To date, more than 3.62 crore beneficiaries have been issued Ayushman cards.

Currently, Uttar Pradesh ranks second in the country in terms of issuing Ayushman cards to beneficiaries, with Madhya Pradesh leading with 3.69 crore beneficiaries. However, recent trends suggest that Uttar Pradesh may soon become the number one state in terms of issuing the most Ayushman cards to beneficiaries. Chhattisgarh holds the third position in the country, with a total of 2.03 crore beneficiaries having received Ayushman cards. Nationally, approximately 25 crore Ayushman cards have been issued in the five years since the scheme's inception.

During the Ayushman Samvad event, Union Minister of State for Health, Prof. SP Singh Baghel, celebrated the completion of five successful years of Ayushman Bharat and the issuance of approximately 25 crore Ayushman cards, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sangeeta Singh, CEO of the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services (SACHIS), highlighted that beneficiaries can now easily obtain an Ayushman card through online services. They can apply for a new card online via the website https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in from the comfort of their homes.

Furthermore, families with members aged 60 or older are now eligible for the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Uttar Pradesh has 11.04 lakh such families, and the National Health Authority (NHA) has included their data in the list of beneficiaries. The Medical and Health Department has instructed all district magistrates to create Ayushman cards for these families.
