Hyderabad: Former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Kasireddy Narayanreddy has formally joined the Congress party in a significant political development. The joining ceremony took place in New Delhi and was attended by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Reasons for Joining:
Narayanreddy, in his resignation letter addressed to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao earlier in the month, expressed his confidence in the Congress party's ability to drive development in the state. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that the youth of Telangana have been seeking employment opportunities and the overall development of the state.

Local Development Concerns:
Narayanreddy shared his concerns regarding the lack of development in Kalavakurthi, emphasizing that despite the region being named a project area, the expected water supply did not materialize. He also highlighted the issue of land acquisition without compensation and the absence of degree colleges. Additionally, he noted that farmers who had lost their lands were not benefiting from the Rythu Bandhu initiative.

Congress Guarantees:
Narayanreddy expressed his belief in the six guarantees declared by the Congress party, stating that these initiatives would bring substantial benefits to the people of Telangana. He credited the people for his decision to join the Congress and acknowledged that his role as an MLA would involve dedicated efforts towards the development of his region.

Recent Political Shifts:
Kasireddy Narayanreddy's decision to join the Congress follows a series of notable political shifts in Telangana. Leaders such as Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, and Mynampally Hanumantha Rao have recently left the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to align themselves with the Congress party. These developments come ahead of the Telangana Assembly elections scheduled later in the year.

Former BRS MLC Kasireddy Narayanreddy's decision to join the Congress party reflects his confidence in the party's commitment to state development and the six guarantees it has put forth. The move comes as part of a broader realignment of political forces in Telangana in the lead-up to the upcoming Assembly elections.
