Lucknow: The Yogi government has shown sensitivity during the Corona crisis. The poor not only got the support as per the requirement but in the period of two months of lockdown, 17.77 crore poor families and the needy were also given 29.66 lakh tonnes of ration. In the Corona crisis, UP has set a record.

During the lockdown, when the poor people were worried about how their food, the government headed by CM Yogi opened the government godowns of food grains to the public without delay. Started providing ration to 3.55 crore people twice per month for two months and under this five-phase campaign, 17.77 crore people were provided rice, gram and wheat. The Food and Logistics Department has provided food grains to every beneficiary at the right time, according to the information received from the CM office on the first day of the fifth phase starting from June 1, '31 lakh 12 thousand 258 81,438.163 MT food grains have been sent to the poor and needy on ration cards. This included 78,325.90 metric tonnes of rice and 3,112.25 metric tonnes of gram. Not only this, but 35,493.292 metric tons of free food grains were also distributed on 11 lakh 34 thousand 942 ration cards.

16.696 metric tonnes of food grains has been provided to 1212 migrant labourers who have returned from other states of the country. These include 6.409 MT of 440 urban labourers and 10.287 MT of food grains provided to 772 rural workers. They have also been given wheat along with rice, gram
