Nainital: Incessant heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand. In fact, there are reports of landslides from place to place. Let me tell you all that on 20th August last Friday, the Veerbhatt bridge in Nainital suddenly started making landfall and it started coming from the hill to the Malwa road a long way. Meanwhile, a KMOU bus narrowly escaped being hit by a landslide. According to reports, passengers on the bus were seen jumping out of windows to save their lives. According to reports, Kumaon including Almora, Bageshwar has been cut off from Haldwani due to landslides. Police have stopped heavy vehicles near Haldwani and Kathgodam.

Now there is a video of the mass falling down which you can see. The rain since last Friday morning had caused soil and stones to fall continuously near the bridge, but suddenly at around 5 pm, debris and trees started falling from the hill in a heavy quantity. Meanwhile, a KMOU bus coming from Bhawali to Haldwani was also trying to cross the bridge here. Seeing all this, people shouted and warned the bus driver. Meanwhile, debris started falling from the hill by the time the driver stopped the bus and backed it. In the meantime, the passengers panicked when they saw the debris falling and jumped out of the bus to save their lives.

In this case, Julikot outpost in-charge Joga Singh says, "Traffic on the road has been completely stopped in view of the threat of landslides. Heavy vehicles have been completely stopped from passing. Small vehicles are being sent from Rani bagh. The most essential services will be sent to the rest of the Kumaon districts through Nainital.'' On the other hand, the MET department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain across Uttarakhand till August 24.
