Dehradun: BJP has finalised more than 60 tickets for the 5th Assembly elections in Uttarakhand on Wednesday. The party will release the first list of candidates at 12 noon on Thursday. The second list of next candidates is likely to be released after re-brainstorming the remaining seats. State BJP President Madan Kaushik confirmed the release of the first list of candidates by Thursday.
The Central Parliamentary Board met in New Delhi on Wednesday under the chairmanship of party national president JP Nadda. The meeting was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National General Secretary Organisation BL Santosh, Uttarakhand Election In-charge Prahlad Joshi, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, State President Madan Kaushik and State General Secretary Organisation Ajay Kumar.
According to sources, the panel of names in all the 70 assembly seats in Uttarakhand was brainstormed till late in the night. Out of these, names were finalized in more than 60 seats. According to party sources, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Khatima and state president Madan Kaushik will contest from the Haridwar assembly seat. Apart from him, tickets for all ministers have also been finalized. The first list of candidates will be released on Thursday at a press conference at the party's central office. The party will decide about 10 seats including Kotdwar, Doiwala later.
