Dehradun: To bring the tourism industry affected by the Corona epidemic back on track, the government has set a tourism incentive coupon scheme in the state on the lines of the European country Sicily, Japan, and Cyprus. Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to determine this strategy. The slackness in the amount given by the government to the tourists for a three-day stay will be paid to the hotels and homestay within 15 days.

Along with this, the state government has started this strategy to boost the economy related to tourism and to attract more tourists in the state. To take advantage of this, tourists coming to Uttarakhand will have to register themselves in the tourism category on the Dehradun Smart City Portal. For stay in the hotel and homestay for three days, the tourists will be given incentive coupons for a maximum of 1000 rupees or 25 per cent daily.

On this coupon, the tourists will get the benefit of discount in the room bill of the hotel and homestay. Patidha Arora, director of Adidev Home Stay, said that the TIC scheme started by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council will prove to be very profitable from the point of view of tourists and it will benefit the hotel and homestay operators. This initiative of the state government has been welcomed by the people of the Tourism industry and will help in boosting the economy in the state. Many changes can happen in the state, and the economy will also increase.
