Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday criticized the Congress party for engaging in what he termed the politics of appeasement, claiming that Congress has looted the people of Haryana. Speaking at a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Renu Dabla in Basana village, Kalanaur (Haryana), CM Dhami highlighted his ongoing commitment to the region.

"The picture of Haryana has changed from 2014 to 2024. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, all-round development has been realized in Haryana. In the last ten years, significant progress has been made for the poor, farmers, and working-class citizens. Rapid development has occurred in roads, railways, airports, hospitals, schools, and medical colleges across Haryana," CM Dhami stated. He noted that pure drinking water is now available in every household, and 24 lakh poor families have received free gas connections. "1.50 lakh youth of the state have secured government jobs. We have also distributed free tablets to 5.50 lakh students. Compensation of Rs 12,500 crore has been provided for farmers affected by crop losses. The Prime Minister launched the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign from this land, leading to significant change in Haryana," he added.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops has been increased from 8 to 14, asserting that under the BJP government, MSP will be provided for 24 crops. He emphasized the implementation of historic welfare schemes under the Prime Minister's leadership. "Many initiatives, including Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and Kisan Samman Nidhi, are currently in progress. The BJP government in Haryana unites all 36 communities," CM Dhami remarked.

He contrasted the BJP's commitment to development with Congress's alleged history of appeasement and corruption. "Congress has looted Haryana, usurped the rights of common people, and sold jobs while keeping talented youth at bay. The Congress party is synonymous with corruption, bribery, and exploitation of the poor. The sins of Congress will never be forgotten. They seek to regain power in Haryana to indulge in corruption once more," he claimed.

Haryana will hold elections on October 5 to elect its 90-member state legislative assembly, with counting scheduled for October 8. In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the single largest party, winning 40 seats, while Congress secured 30 seats.
