Dehradun: The High Court has completely removed the ban on machine dredging in the rivers of the state, but the ban on machine mining is going to continue. Now dredging in rivers can also be done with machines on the basis of SOP in the state. On December 19, 2022, the court had banned dredging of rivers using heavy machines.

Reports say that to remove this ban, the government had submitted an application in the High Court seeking to modify the order. In this, it was said on behalf of the government that last year the court had completely banned the use of the machine to remove debris from the rivers. Due to this many problems were being faced. Flood relief work is not being done.

Let us tell you that it is not possible to lift debris manually (with hands). It was said that the government is going to take concrete steps for monitoring, committees have been formed. Not only this, the case has also been heard before the division bench of Acting Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Justice Vivek Bharti Sharma.
