Uttarakhand govt reverses its decision, schools to open now from this date

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has made changes to the decision to open schools amid the possibility of the third wave of the corona. After the new decision, schools will now be opened only for students from class IX to XII from 2nd August. While physical classes for children from class VI to VIII will start from 16th August. Due to this, online education of children will also continue.

In a meeting held today on Saturday, it was decided that it would be necessary to use social distance, masks, sanitizers in every school. A nodal officer will be made in each school to follow it. A number of decisions were taken in the meeting chaired by Secretary School Education Radhika Jha.

In the earlier decision, the State Cabinet had decided to open schools for all classes from 2nd August with 100% capacity, but now it has been changed, now only schools from 9th to 12th standard will be opened from 2nd August while classes 6th to 8th will be opened from 16th August. In the earlier decision, an order was issued to open all classes from 6th to 12th August. Education Secretary Radhika Jha's schools with a very high number of students will be run in two shifts and children can be called as per odd serial number.
