Dehradun: A situation of tension has arisen between India and China in the last few days. Meanwhile, in view of the sensitivity on the border, the Uttarakhand government is also monitoring the border roads. The government wants proper maintenance of roads on the China border. But the standard of repairing the roads is still old.

The same will now be taken up on Friday in a video conferencing meeting of the Home Secretary of the Central Government. According to sources, earlier this meeting was to be taken by Central Home Minister Amit Shah. But as his COVID-19 test report came positive, now the Home Secretary will take this meeting. About 350 km border of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh cities of the state is adjacent to China. However, Chief Secretary Om Prakash says that the boundary of Uttarakhand in the state is not sensitive. But as a precaution, the government is taking full preparations.

According to him, there is no point directly related to Uttarakhand in this meeting on matters related to the border area. There is a matter of maintenance of roads on the China border from our side, which will be discussed. He further said that the government wants the maintenance of roads on the China border properly. The standards of annual repair and maintenance of BRO roads are old. Standards have not changed since the 2013-14. But the amount of maintenance has increased. The matter will be discussed with the Home Secretary, and only after discussion, something will be determined.
