Dehradun: On Saturday morning, an elephant killed a devotee near Tiger Khale in the Gauhari range of Rajaji Reserve Park in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. This incident has stirred the devotees coming to Rishikesh. Additional SP Manisha Joshi, who reached the spot after getting the information, said that the incident is around 5 in the morning. An elephant was crushed to death by the tiger near Khale. This person has not been identified yet.

The elephant has also damaged the carriage of the passengers going to Neelkanth. The passengers escaped and saved their lives. Due to this incident, panic has spread among the tourists passing through Rajaji National Park. At present, an elephant is present on the spot, which is being tried to drive away. The elephant is roaming around in the forest. The police have taken the corpse in their possession.

The deceased has not been identified. In this regard, information is being collected from the police stations and police stations nearby. At the same time, the body has been kept in the Rishikesh AIIMS mortuary for postmortem. For the safety of the people, the patrolling team of the forest department and the police team have been deployed on the spot. An attempt is being made to trace the elephant.
