The rising mercury in Uttarakhand has made life difficult. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of severe heat even today. The mercury reached record highs in the capital Dehradun and adjoining areas on Saturday. For the first time this year, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38 degrees and the minimum temperature was above 21 degrees. Due to this, people had to face intense heat and humidity throughout the day. The weather center believes that the temperature will rise even today.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature of the capital was recorded at 38.7 degrees, the highest so far this year. At the same time, the minimum temperature also reached 21.5. Record day and night temperatures rose significantly, both day and night. In the capital, Doon and the surrounding areas, the humidity was very high since morning. After the sun came out, the heat also increased. The temperature spiked later in the afternoon. People got some relief from the light breeze in the evening, but by the night, once again the humidity increased.

According to a bulletin issued by the weather center, today the maximum temperature can reach 39 degrees with an increase of about half a degree. There is still one week left in the month of May. In such a situation, the maximum temperature can cross the figure of 40 degrees. Meteorological Director Bikram Singh said that there is less chance of rain at present. Due to this, people will not be able to get relief from the heat and humidity.
