Uttarakhand’s Department of Education announced summer vacation in all higher education institutes. This year the vacations are announced prior then usual in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
The summer vacation began from May 7 and will end by June 12, As per news agency ANI. Earlier, the education department of Uttrakhand announced shuting down of all colleges and universities from May 3 until further orders. The state government also has extended the ‘Corona curfew’ in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts till May 10. Lately, Uttarakhand reported 9642 fresh cases, 4,643 discharges and 137 deaths on Friday.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is calling the CMs of state to stock the condition. Meanwhile he also gave a call to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat for enquiring about the pandemic situation in the state and assured further help from the Centre. In a tweet, Rawat had informed that about the conversation and steps taken by the state government to control the spread of the virus.
