President Ram Nath Kovind will be on a one-day visit to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh today.
Here President Kovind will lay foundation stone of five projects of the National Highway Authority of India during the visit.
After becoming President, he will be in Benares first time  to offer the holy land  with several development projects. The President will lay the foundation for projects worth Rs. 2600 crores. In addition, under the morning-A-Varanasi, green banner scheme, beautification of city parks  porojects will also be given green signal.
He will also distribute appointment letters to candidates selected during a job fair organised by the Vyavasaik Shiksha Evam Kaushal Vikas Vibhag of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. 
The President will also receive the first copy of the Sanskrit translation of the book 'Charaiveti! Charaiveti!’, written by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik before returning to Delhi.
Speaking on his book, UP Governor Ram Naik said the Sanskrit translation of his book will help Sanskrit scholars across the globe.
Indian National Highway Authority will spend Rs. 2510 crores on this scheme. There will be a widening work from Varanasi to Chunar, Lalganj to the border of Madhya Pradesh. The President will lay the foundation for the first phase of this project. It will be widened from Varanasi to Daggagpur.
