On Sunday, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar took to Twitter to introduce her son to her social media family. Varalaxmi  wrote, “Introducing my son #guccivaralaxmi Follow him on Instagram @guccivaralaxmi (sic).”  Before you jump to conclusions, let’s tell you, the ‘son’ is furry and has four paws! Yes, the actress has got home a new pet, Gucci. She even shared a short video, in which she can be seen carrying Gucci in her arms, climbing stairs and holding him ahead, a la Ramya Krishnan in Bahubali! The video further shows Gucci running and prancing around, playing with stuffed toys, and enjoying the warmth of Varalaxmi’s love.

Gucci’s Instagram handle already has a little over 1800 followers, and includes Varalaxmi’s friends from the industry, Trisha, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Aditi Rao Hydari. The actress had first shared a glimpse of her pet on May 11, and the handle is full of pictures and videos of Gucci having fun and even walking on a treadmill. Varalaxmi had shared the introduction video of Gucci’s handle as well, and wrote, “Introducing me; Gucci Varalaxmi. Hello World, it’s nice to meet you ”

Varalaxmi’s love for animals is no secret. Early in 2018, she had shared an emotional post about losing her pet Dino. The actress has three dogs now, and Gucci seems to be the latest to join her family. An active animal welfare crusader, she has been feeding strays during the lockdown and urging others to do their bit for animals during the pandemic as well.
