This is a local issue, but under capacity, pumps have been constructed under all the work being done to make the Ganga pollution-free.
No way to eliminate bacteria:-
According to Visonath Mishra, the STP plant that is also working is working on old technology with no way to eliminate the faecal coliform bacteria. Thus, Ganga will not be pollution-free. With the pump shut down, the entire water is now falling directly into the Ganga. As a result, the Ganga water will not only be black but all parameters will also go awry.
