Varun Dhawan who is currently busy with Street Dancer 3D will be seen starring opposite Sara Ali Khan in his father David Dhawan's remake of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor starrer 'Coolie No. 1'. As per reports, the filmmaker is set to bring on floors an adaptation of the film, originally starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles. While Varun is said to take in Govinda's character, Karisma's role will be essayed by Sara Ali Khan.

If the latest buzz is anything to go by, she will be paired up with Varun Dhawan in the upcoming remake of Coolie. No:1. New star kid in B-Town, Sara Ali Khan has already impressed with her act in films like Kedarnath and Simmba. She also won the Filmfare award as best debut actress for the film Kedarnath. Currently, she is acting alongside Karthik Aryan in Love Aaj Kal 2, which is being directed by Imtiaz Ali.

Farhad Samji, who penned down the dialogues for Simmba, will be writing for the remake as well. "It is a boon for any writer to work with a dedicated actor like Varun. We discussed many ideas even though Coolie No. 1 was always on our mind. We finally zeroed in on it because the lead character has a certain innocence even when he is conning others and that's something today's audience hasn't seen in a while". This will be the third time when David and Varun will be working together. Earlier, the father-son duo came together for Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2.
