Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday made a big announcement for the common man, saying that VAT on petrol-diesel will no longer be increased in UP. After the meeting of the State Tax Department at his home on revenue collection, CM Yogi Adityanath said, "Keeping in view the larger public interest, we have not imposed any new tax increase in the VAT rate or any new tax in the state. Today, the lowest VAT rate on petrol/diesel is in UP. There will be no increase in VAT in the near future. With this in mind, an attempt should be made to increase revenues in line with the capabilities of the locality.''
