Today is the death anniversary of scholar, advocate and writer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, one of the great revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. Today we are going to tell you some special things related to him, after knowing which you will be surprised. 

* It was Veer Savarkar who suggested to put the 'Dharm Chakra' in the middle of the national flag. His suggestion was accepted by President Dr. Rajendra Prasad.

* Veer Savarkar was the first to declare complete independence the goal of India's independence movement. He was the first political prisoner to be arrested in foreign (France) land, and the case was brought to the International Court of Justice in 'The Hague'.

* Veer Savarkar was the first revolutionary who contemplated the all-round development of the nation and after the end of his captive life, he started the movement against the evils of untouchability etc.

* Veer Savarkar is said to be the first poet in the world who wrote poems with nail and coal on the walls of the prison in the solitary confinement of Andaman. After that, he had also memorized all those poems. He remembered 10 thousand lines and wrote those lines again after he was released from prison.

* Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was the only freedom fighter in the world who was sentenced to 2–2 life imprisonment. He then served that sentence and became active in nation life again.

* Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was the first writer in the world whose first freedom of 1857 was banned by 2-2 countries before publication.

* Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was the first Indian student who refused to take an oath of loyalty to the King of England, due to which he could not advocate.
