New Delhi: The demise of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has been described as a personal loss for her by Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Then, when the Vice President arrived at the crematorium at Lodhi Road to bid his last farewell to Sushma, he burst into tears in front of her body. Naidu considered former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj as a younger sister who tied her rakhi on every Rakshabandhan.
Earlier, paying homage to Sushma Swaraj in the Rajya Sabha, Venkaiah Naidu said that she was a competent administrator and true voice of the people. According to Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma had emerged as a role model and was known as a minister who could easily communicate.
Remembering Swaraj, Naidu said, "She was like my sister who always addressed me as 'Anna' (elder brother). She was a regular at family and cultural events at my residence for a long time. Every year, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, she used to tie 'Rakhi' on my hand. I would be missing this honour this year. I have lost a valuable sister in her demise, which is an irreparable loss to me,"
