Veteran theatre, TV, and film actor B.M. Krishne Gowda passed away on Monday due to a heart attack. According to recent reports, the 80-year-old artist had recently recovered after contracting the Covid-19 virus but, unfortunately, couldn't avoid further health complications and breathed his last. Mr. Krishne Gowda had played a number of supporting roles in both television and cinema, apart from being a well-known stage actor as well.
Having begun his career as an employee at the Karnataka accountant general's office, B.M. Krishne Gowda ventured into stage acting on the side, only to become a well-regarded artist in the coming days. He grew in popularity for his role in the very popular "Mukhyamantri Chandru" play, and reportedly, was also a skilled volleyball player at the state level.
Many Sandalwood insiders condoled the sad demise of the veteran actor. In the recent past, the industry has been bereaved of many talented artists because of the Covid-19 virus - veteran filmmaker Renuka Sharma, actor-comedian Shankhanand Aravind, producer Ramu, etc., to name a few. With the ongoing lockdown restrictions expected bring down the number of cases, the industry would certainly hope to quickly regain some of its lost momentum and get back on its feet at the earliest.
