KOCHI: Renowned Malayalam actor Kundara Johny, celebrated for his portrayal of antagonistic roles, has passed away following a cardiac arrest. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Kollam, Kerala, on Tuesday, at the age of 71.

Kundara Johny's cinematic journey commenced at the tender age of 23 back in 1979, when he made his debut with the film "Nithya Vasantham." Over the years, he not only left an indelible mark on the world of Malayali cinema but also garnered widespread acclaim and accolades for his impeccable portrayal of antagonistic characters.

Kundara Johny's last appearance on the silver screen was in the 2022 film "Meppadiyan." His remarkable body of work, which spanned four decades, contributed significantly to the Malayalam film industry. Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal, among others, expressed their condolences, highlighting the fact that Kundara had left an indelible mark by gracing more than 500 films with his extraordinary talent.
