Los Angeles- California: Revered Ukrainian actress Oksana Shvets was killed in a Russian missile attack on a residential building in Kiev. She was 67 years old, according to reports.
According to 'Deadline,' which based its report on the English-language daily 'Kyiv Post' published in the Ukrainian capital, Shvets has worked in theatre and film for decades and has been awarded one of Ukraine's highest honours, the title of 'Honoured Artiste of Ukraine.'
Only the most accomplished performing artists in the country are honoured with this honour. The Young Theatre expressed "irreparable anguish" over Shvets' death in its release, before going into detail about how she died.
In addition to paying tribute to the talented actor, the theatre group expressed their anger with the ongoing war. "What a wonderful memory for the great actress!" There is no forgiveness for the enemy that has invaded our country!
Shvets was born on the 10th of February, 1955. She is a graduate of the Ivan Franko Theatrical's theatre studio and the Kiev State Institute of Theatre Arts. Shvets had previously worked at the Ternopil Music and Drama Theatre and the Kiev Theatre of Satire, in addition to the Young Theatre.
