Vodafone Idea Will Shut Down 3G Services in Delhi From January 15

Vi (Vodafone Idea) is going to shut down its 3G services in Delhi from January 15. According to the new change, now the operator has started asking its customers to upgrade their existing SIM to 4G in the Delhi circle. For this change, now the company is using its 3G spectrum for 4G services. This move of re-farming also took place earlier in Bengaluru and Mumbai. Vi customers of Delhi can upgrade their existing SIM to 4G by visiting their nearby stores.

The telecom giant Vi has started sending out an SMS to its customers in the Delhi circle. In this message, the customers are asked to upgrade their SIM to 4G before January 15 to receive uninterrupted service on their phones. The company will provide voice calling facility via 2G to those customers who won't be able to upgrade their SIM to 4G. 

According to data of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Vodafone-Idea has around 16.21 million wireless subscribers in the Delhi circle. Earlier, the telecom company Vi started re-farming its 3G spectrum for 4G in Bengaluru. This move will further expand to move to Mumbai last week.
