Andhra Pradesh: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu prayed at Lord Venkateswara's historic hill shrine in Tirumala near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday, according to a temple official.

As stated by the official, Venkaiah Naidu, an ardent devotee of the hill shrine, arrived here on Wednesday evening with family members to attend the wedding of his granddaughter in a private marriage hall in the hill town later that day.

The Vice President, dressed in traditional garb and with a holy 'naamam' (mark) on his forehead, arrived at the shrine just before daybreak and offered prayers to Sri Venkateswara Swami, the temple's presiding deity, according to the official.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Executive Officer K S Jawahar Reddy, Additional Executive Officer A Venkata Dharma Reddy, and Chairman Y V Subba Reddy greeted Naidu warmly upon his arrival to the temple, according to the official.
