New Delhi: From October 10, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will visit Comoros and Sierra Leone to take forward the initiative to promote India's bilateral relations with African countries. According to an official statement, this will be the first visit of any high-level delegation from India to these two countries in the southeastern coastal region of the continent of Africa.
In the first leg of the tour, Venkaiah Naidu will meet with the President of India Ajali Asomani in Moroni, the capital of Comoros. Naidu will also address people of Indian origin living there. Naidu will engage in delegation-level talks with the President of Comoros on October 11, and will then sign bilateral agreements between India and Comoros in various areas in the presence of the two leaders. During this time Naidu will also address the Parliament of Comoros.
The Vice President will then leave for Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. On October 13, Naidu will meet with President Julius Mada Beau after meeting Sierra Leone's foreign minister. Meanwhile, after delegation-level talks, agreements for bilateral cooperation between India and Sierra Leone in various fields will be signed in the presence of the two leaders.
