Lucknow: The statue of Mother Annapurna, which was stolen 107 years ago, was brought to India from Canada and established in Kashi. UP CM Yogi Adityanath himself attended the establishment of Mother Annapurna. The statue stolen from Varanasi about 107 years ago was recovered from Canada on October 15. The UP government representatives obtained a statue from the Archaeological Survey of India after a religious ceremony during mantra chanting on November 11. With the arrival of the statue in Varanasi, the 4-day 'Shobha Yatra' of Mother Annapurna concluded on Sunday night. The statue of Mother Annapurna has been welcomed with fanfare at several places, including Kasganj, Kanpur, Ayodhya before reaching her final destination in the middle of the journey.
The statue of Mother Annapurna was dressed in a red kilt, a silver umbrella was also placed above her. The statue was seated on a magnificent wooden throne amidst an 800 km journey from Delhi to Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Mother Annapurna is considered to be the goddess of food and nutrition. The height of the idol is 17 cm, the width is 9 cm and the thickness is 4 cm.
Earlier on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath completes worship at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. He has also inspected the progress of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project. He has said that Goddess Annapurna 'Shobha Yatra' will reach here and the idol of the goddess is going to be installed here.
