Chandigarh: A shocking case of bribery has come to light from Faridabad, Haryana. In fact, the sub-inspector had demanded a bribe from the complainant in exchange for taking action in the buffalo theft case here. However, he was caught red-handed by the Vigilance Department while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000. Got surprised, when the sub-inspector tried to swallow the money in front of the vigilance team and also manhandled them.

During this time, someone present there made a video of this whole incident and shared it on social media. According to the information, the vigilance team had received a complaint against Sub-Inspector Mahendra Pal, posted in Sector-3, that he was demanding a bribe from the victim in return for taking action in a buffalo theft case. The vigilance team immediately reached there and caught the sub-inspector red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4000. The complainant Shambhu Nath informed that someone had stolen the buffalo from his house late on Sunday night. When Shambhu Nath went to the Sector-3 police post with a complaint the next day, sub-inspector Mahendra, who was on duty there, demanded Rs 15,000 from him in exchange for taking action.

After some conversation, the talk between the two was confirmed for Rs 10,000. After which Shambhu Nath first gave 4,000 rupees to the sub-inspector and then gave 2,000 rupees later. Shambhu told the sub-inspector that he did not have any more money. But sub-inspector Mahendra asked him to pay Rs 4,000 more. Upset over this, the victim lodged a complaint with the Haryana State Vigilance Bureau. After which, as part of the planning, Shambhu Nath again reached the place where the sub-inspector had called him with Rs 4,000. As soon as Shambhu Nath gave Rs 4,000 to the sub-inspector, the vigilance team nabbed him. But, on seeing the team, the sub-inspector first tried to swallow the money. Then there was a scuffle with the vigilance team. But the team arrested him. At present, the medical examination of the accused sub-inspector has been done and further action is being taken.
