Lucknow: Devshila, which came out of Nepal for the statue of Ram temple under construction in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya, reached Mithila city Janakpurdham late on Saturday night. Devshila was welcomed by Chief Mahant Ram Tapeshwar Das on reaching the Janaki Temple premises of Janakpurdham. A huge crowd of devotees had gathered on this occasion. A huge crowd of people from Nepal thronged the Janaki temple premises of Janakpur at 11 pm when Devshila arrived. On entering Janakpur, the common people welcomed the Shila Shobha Yatra.

Nepal's MP ministers worshiped Devshila and donated clothes in the presence of pandits. Not only this, on the arrival of stone, somewhere Shantipath was welcomed with Vedic chanting. Earlier, the Shila Shobha Yatra was given a grand welcome in every city, village, and town en route from Muktinathdham in Nepal to Janakpurdham via Pokhara. A crowd of devotees was seen at every square intersection. People of every age and every region kept coming for darshan and kept worshiping Devshila. Devotees who came to visit Devshila were seen singing bhajans and singing at some places. Somewhere incense sticks and incense lamps were visible, and somewhere people were seen donating fruits, flowers, and clothes.

There has been a relation between Mithila and Ayodhya since Treta Yuga and once again handing over of Devshila from the same Mithila for the idol of Ramlala to be built in Ayodhya is a continuation of the tradition going on since ages. A 97-year-old woman who came to visit Devshila at Janaki temple in Janakpur said that she got the good fortune of seeing God. Will I ever be able to go to Ayodhya or not, but today it is like a virtue for me to see stone going to Ayodhya right here. At the same time, stone study and excavation expert Kulraj Chalise had told that a decision has been taken by the Government of India to take Devshila from Nepal for the Ram idol in Ayodhya. This is very important. This will further strengthen the cultural ties between Nepal and India.
