The Himachal government can investigate the vigilance of disturbances in the development works of panchayats. Chief Minister Jairam Thakur while giving directions for inquiry on the question raised in the budget session of Legislative Assembly of Harshavardhan Chauhan and Rakesh Pathania said that investigation can be completed in three months with the vigilance of serious complaints. He instructed the legislators of power and opposition, saying that no one should come to him to demand the rescue of government employees, including the public representatives found guilty in the investigation.

Panchayati Raj Minister Virendra Kanwar said that all panchayats of the Shilai block can be investigated within 6 months. On Tuesday, during the Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly, Congress MLA from Shillai Harshvardhan Chauhan said, "The level of corruption in Shilai has become very high. BDOs are arbitrary in development work. I have failed to stop this corruption. The maximum corruption in the entire state is happening in the Shilai block." Under Bandali Panchayat, the expenditure of 5 lakhs on a school was reported, while the principal said that there was no work done there. The MLA said that out of the 500 crores sanctioned in the last few years, there has been a scam of about 300 crores in his block.
