Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Akkineni’s Super Deluxe  is reciving rave reviews at the box-office. The film  has grossed $35,630 in the last weekend and now stands with the grand total of $376,839. With this total it has beat the lifetime business of Thala Ajith and Nayanthara's Viswasam ($273,519) to become the second highest grossing Tamil film of 2019 in America.

IThe film, which also stars Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Akkineni and Ramya Krishnan in key roles, is directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja.

Talking about how Vijay Sethupathicame on board, director Thiagarajan told Firstpost, "I was supposed to produce my friend's film, and I spoke to Vijay Sethupathi to listen to his script. He gave us an appointment. It was then he casually asked me what I was doing, and I told him my premise. I coolly asked him if he would play the transgender character, Shilpa. He asked me for two days' time. But then, he immediately called me and gave his nod to the project, which took a completely different shape once he came aboard."
