Big twist in Vikas Dubey Encounter Case, Supreme Court increases veteran in investigation team

Lucknow: After the death of gangster Vikas Dubey, many revelations are taking place. A petition has been filed in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The petition seeks for the appointment of another former DGP, in place of retired DGP KL Gupta, in the commission set up by the Supreme Court. This application has been filed by petitioner Anoop Awasthi. In the application, Anoop Awasthi has mentioned the statement of retired DGP KL Gupta, in which he said in the media, "We must accept that the police is right about the encounter."

The petitioner has suggested the names of former DGP IC Dwivedi, SJ Ahmed and Prakash Singh. According to the order of the Supreme Court, the encounter case will be investigated by a committee headed by retired Justice BS Chauhan. Former Director-General of Police KL Gupta will also join this committee. The case was heard in the Supreme Court on Wednesday where Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the UP government, told the apex court that former Supreme Court judge Rtd. BS Chauhan was approached to be part of the inquiry committee.

Justice Chauhan has given permission. Mehta also suggested former Director General of Police KL Gupta be part of the investigation team which was approved by the Supreme Court. After the approval of these two names from the Supreme Court, now this committee will start working in a week. After two months, the investigation report will be submitted to the Supreme Court. The top court will monitor the entire process. And now complete decisions will be taken strictly in this investigation.
