Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is going to the polls these days, while Vikram Bhaleshwar, who won the Zila panchayat member election in Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal, will wear shoes and slippers after seven years. Vikram, on losing the last election, had vowed that he would not wear shoes and slippers until he wins the election. With the blessings of the people, now after winning the election, he will wear shoes and slippers.
 
Vikram Bhaleshwar has been elected as a member from ward-8 of Bhopal District Panchayat. He won by more than 3,000 votes. For his victory, Vikram campaigned barefoot from village to village. After winning the elections, Vikram will visit 132 villages to thank him for the blessings he has received from the people. After that, he wore shoes and slippers.
 
Vikram Bhaleshwar said that people have blessed him. Vikram, 38, studied up to his MA and is a farmer. Vikram said he first contested the 2010 panchayat elections, which he lost. Then he was defeated in the election of the mandi committee also. In the 2015 Zila panchayat elections, he was defeated by 62 votes. Thereafter, he had vowed to remain barefoot till he won the election.
