Ranchi: Residents of a village came out against the administration after six trees were cut down in Jharkhand. The incident took place at Todangkel in the Khunti district. There, 6 mango trees were cut down by the administration even after the villagers refused, against which the villagers took to the streets. Seeing the protests growing, the administration had to convert the village into a cantonment. The villagers withdrew from the streets only after taking it in writing from the administration. The protestors said that their head will be cut off, but they will not allow the trees to be cut.

In the hands of the same protesting villagers have posters of slogans like Save Life, Stop Cutting Trees, Save the Environment, etc. In fact, 6 huge mango trees in Todangkel village were cut down by the administration. There was anger among the villagers about this. On February 1, the villagers took to the streets. Earlier, people had warned the authorities. But they were furious when they ignored their plea.

A large number of people had gathered to protest against the police and administration. Women were also involved. People took out a rally and protested against the administration's cutting of trees. SDO Syed Riaz Ahmed, DSP Amit Kumar, LRDC Jitendra Munda, executive officer and CO all had to come to convince the participants of the rally. The SDO said that at present construction work and tree cutting has been banned by the administration so that the law and order situation in the district remains peaceful and normal.
