New Delhi: Vinay Kumar Sharma, one of the four convicts, has sent a mercy petition to President Ramnath Kovind on Wednesday to seek relief from the death penalty in the Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case. Earlier, the mercy petition of Mukesh, another convict in the Nirbhaya case, has been dismissed. Seeing the time of execution, all the culprits are adopting different tactics to avoid this.

Another convict Akshay Singh Thakur filed a corrective petition in the apex court, which has been accepted for hearing by the court.
