Lucknow: In the violent incidents against the Citizenship Amendment Act for the last few days, the situation has come to a great extent after the police administration's swift action. The government has claimed that the situation is under control. Meanwhile, another injured died in Kanpur. Now the death toll has been 19. Internet service was disrupted in many districts on Sunday as a precautionary measure. Police has stepped up the search for the miscreants. Nominated arrests are being made in the districts.

CAA: Police takes 879 protesters in custody

According to sources, it has been learned that the incidents of arson, sabotage, and firing on police in various districts of Uttar Pradesh for the last 3 days came to an end on Sunday in protest against CAA. According to the police headquarters, 879 accused have been arrested in these incidents by registering 164 cases, while 5312 people have been detained and preventive action taken. According to the police, 288 police personnel were injured in the incidents of violence, arson, and sabotage, of which 61 police personnel were injured by firearms. 647 cartridges kiosks, 69 live cartridges and 35 illegal firearms were recovered from the locations.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, 22 December 2019, in Raipur, a young man Rais injured due to bullet injuries died. The death toll here has been 3. SP MLA Amitabh Vajpayee and former MLA Kamlesh Diwakar, who were arrested there, were released on bail late on Saturday night. After the situation worsened in the state, the police have kept a close watch on social media. According to the rule, in the case of posting objectionable and misleading, 76 cases have been registered and 108 persons have been arrested. Legal action is being taken against 15344 posts taking cognizance of them.
