Health Minister Vipin Singh Parmar will officially take over as the Speaker of the Assembly on Wednesday. Along with this, Parmar has submitted his resignation from the post of Minister to the Chief Minister on Tuesday after the announcement of the name in the Legislature Party meeting held on Monday night.

Apart from this, during the nomination, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, former assembly speaker and party state president Dr. Rajiv Bindal and other cabinet members are present. With this, since no nomination was filed for the post by the Congress Legislature Party, Parmar would be formally elected unopposed on Wednesday and take office.

On Tuesday evening, Governor Bandaru Dattatreya accepted Parmar's resignation. After Parmar leaves the cabinet, three posts have become vacant in Jayaram's cabinet. Kishan Kapoor, sitting MP of Kangra, who was MLA from Dharamshala before Parmar and Anil Sharma of Mandi have already resigned from the post.
