This is Virat's 20th Test century as captain. Ricky Ponting had scored 19 Test centuries while captain. However, Kohli still lags behind former South African cricketer Graeme Smith in this list. Graeme Smith is on top with 109 centuries as captain in 109 Test matches.

At the same time, Virat Kohli has equalled Ricky Ponting in the case of scoring the most centuries as captain in international cricket. Virat Kohli has scored 41st century in international cricket as captain. Ricky Ponting also has 41 centuries in international cricket as captain.
