Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli telling off for slow over-rate during the 11th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) match 24 against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday night.

Since it was only his first offence of the season, a fine of Rs 12 lakh was imposed on the 29-year-old for violating the IPL Code of Conduct concerning to minimum over-rate offences.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain the run machine Virat Kohli saw his side go down to captain cool MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings in a death-over thriller at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday in the Indian Premier League 2018.

While the stunning-crush puts RCB away from the top 4, Kohli faced an individual hammering also, and RCB skipper having been reprimanded for slow over-rate during the CSK innings.

The Royal Challengers posted enough total on the board as the hosts put a target of 206 runs for the Super Kings to chase. Kohli opened the innings alongside the South African Quinton de Kock, were failed to continue his good form and was dismissed by Shardul Thakur for just 18 runs.

As the first wicket falling on 35, the South African duo of De Kock and AB de Villiers marked a 103-partnership for the second wicket to ensure their team had enough total on board. Chasing their second 200-plus goal of IPL 11, the CSK saw Ambati Rayudu hit 82 runs from 53 balls as Shane Watson, Suresh Raina, Sam Billings and Ravindra Jadeja all botched to stay for long on crease.

Captain MS Dhoni formed a superior partnership with Rayudu before slamming a 34-ball 70 to take the visitors to the top of the IPL points table with a tremendous win.

Reflecting on the beat Kohli confessed that he is too much concerned about the current campaign, especially taking into consideration for RCB that weren't even able to defend a 200-plus target.

“If we cannot defend even 200, it's a problem somewhere. It hurts at the moment, very tough for us to swallow but great game for Chennai,” Kohli had asserted in the post-match presentation.
