DUBAI: Indian cricket captain and star batsman Virat Kohli is in the top spot in the ICC's new Test rankings. India is second in the team rankings while New Zealand are second. Teams from South Africa (third), England (fourth) and Australia (fifth) are among the top five. The top 10 bowlers list include India's two bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin (sixth ranked) and Ravindra Jadeja (10th place). England's fast bowler James Anderson would have had a chance to reach the top of the one-on-one Test match against Ireland at Lord's on Wednesday if he had lost his four-day match due to injury.

The top scorer in the bowlers' rankings is Pat Cummins and Anderson, who took the highest Test wicket for England, is 16 points away. Anderson was dropped from the top spot in November by South Africa's Kagiso Rabada (current ranking three). Australia's Pat Cummins then took over the spot and Anderson is second. However, Anderson and Cummins will face a tough fight in the Ashes series starting on August 1.
