Vishvendra Singh started his political innings in the year 1988. And in 1989, he was elected as MP from Bharatpur on Janata Dal ticket. After which he joined the BJP. While in BJP, he reached the Lok Sabha 3 times. In 2008, when Vasundhara Raje became CM for the first time, she appointed Vishvendra Singh as her advisor. However, Vasundhara could not manage her throne for a long time and joined Congress.

In 2013 he reached the assembly after winning the election on a Congress ticket, after which he was elected in the 2018 elections and became the tourism minister in the Gehlot government. Since becoming a minister, he has been in the midst of controversies due to public statements against officials of his department. CM Gehlot had to ignore his statements due to his proximity to Sachin. Finally, 10 days before, he rebelled with Pilot.
