The data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India showed that Vodafone Idea Ltd slipped further behind its main rivals in terms of subscriber base, as it net lost 2.7 million mobile subscribers in October.
According to the report, Vodafone Idea (VI) lost 2.65 million subscribers in October that dropped its wireless user base from 295.49 million in September to 292.83 million in October. TRAI's latest telecom subscription report says Bharti Airtel pipped Reliance Jio by adding over 3.67 million new wireless subscribers in the same month.
Bharti Airtel for the third time in a row has added the maximum number of wireless subscribers at 3.67 million in October, followed by Reliance Jio which added 2.23 million customers. State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) lost 10,215 wireless subscribers in October to have a total wireless subscriber base of 118.88 million. Earlier in September, Airtel and Reliance Jio both added subscribers while Vodafone Idea lost users. Airtel recorded 3.8 million new subscribers which is more than twice Jio's 1.46 million new subscribers.
