Prayagraj: In a unique incident from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, teacher Raj bahadur Yadav and farmer Rambahal Yadav took the oath of friendship till their last breath during studying in Class 6 in Dhakwa. The more than three-decade-old friendship has never broken down. After separation of work, we had to meet in the market every day. Both of them died together in the market and the last rites were performed on the nearby pyre at Ibrahimpur Ghat on the banks of gomti river on Saturday afternoon.

Devrakha and Nima mohallas of Aspur Devsara, which has now come under the border of Nagar Panchayat Dhakwa, are nearby. Raj bahadur Yadav (45), a teacher of Devkha, and his friend Rambahal Yadav (48), a resident of Nima, were killed when their car collided with a car coming from behind at Ashtabhuji Mandir Morh in Dhakwa Bazar on Friday evening. The bodies of both of them reached home after post-mortem at night. The funeral procession of both of them, which came from the nearby village, reached Ibrahimpur Ghat of Gomti river together. There the pyre of both of them was placed side by side. The friendship between the two was the subject of discussion among the people present at the ghat. The people of the village said that their friendship never soured. Both of them always stood in each other's happiness and sorrow. Even God did not break the friendship.

Rajbahadur, headmaster of Sultanpur upper primary school in Gaura, around 50 km from home, used to meet his friend Rambahal Yadav at Dhakwa Bazar every evening. Rajbahadur was always afraid to see the accident happening on the road. In such a situation, they used to go to school on rent. They used to walk from home to the market. On Friday evening, after having tea at the shop with his friend, he started riding a motorcycle and a few steps ahead, the car hit him dead.
